Phil co-founded Avondale in 2001 and currently serves as a member of the firm’s Board of Directors. His 30 years of investment banking experience spans Wall Street to Nashville. Prior to Avondale, he spent five years as Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking at SunTrust Equitable Securities in Nashville. This followed 10 years at Lehman Brothers in New York where he served in multiple roles, including as a Managing Director and co-Head of their Merchandising Group and as co-Head of Lehman’s Equity Capital Group, with the responsibility for the marketing and execution of all equity new issues. His experience also includes serving as an investment banker at Blyth Eastman Paine Webber and as a senior consultant at Accenture.
Phil is President of the Board of Trustees of The Ensworth School and Vice President of the board of Trustees of the Centerstone Foundation. He received a BS in engineering from Cornell University in 1979 and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1983.
